Brooks Run Mining Company, LLC won the 2008 Greenlands Award (Co-sponsored by the WV Coal Association and WV DEP). It is WV’s highest reclamation recognition for best overall performance by a coal operator. The award was given to the Erbacon Complex, consisting of the Erbacon Plant and Refuse Area, Seven Pines Surface Mine, Birch River Haulroad, and Poplar Ridge Deep Mine.
Herndon Processing Company, LLC. won the 2005 Greenlands Award (Co-sponsored by the WV Coal Association and WV DEP). It is WV’s highest reclamation recognition for best overall performance by a coal operator. The award was given to Alpha Subsidiary Herndon Processing Company, LLC for its reclamation of the Covel Gob Pile.
