At Alpha, we feel it's important and illuminating to educate people and children about coal and the many benefits that our industry provides. That's why we're proud to support Coal Educational and Development Resource, Inc.(CEDAR), a volunteer, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to telling the story of coal to children in the coalfields.
CEDAR began in July 1993 as a partnership between the coal industry, business community and schools in the coalfields. It provides financial resources and coal education materials to schools in order to help kids understand how the coal industry really works. Through the tireless efforts of the volunteers, CEDAR is securing the future of coal by educating the leaders of tomorrow.
