Executive Vice President & Chief Sustainability Officer
Michael Peelish is Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for Alpha Natural Resources. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President, Safety and Human Resources for Foundation Coal since 2004 and Senior Vice President, Safety and Human Resources of RAG American Coal Holding, Inc. since 1999. From 1989 to 1999, he served in various legal, safety and regulatory roles for the Cyprus Amax companies, and before that was an attorney at Consolidation Coal Co. Michael received his law degree from West Virginia University College of Law and his Bachelor of Science in Engineering of Mines from West Virginia University, cum laude.
