Through community investment in human services, educational,
philanthropic and social development,
Alpha strives to create opportunities and improve
the quality of life for children and families throughout the
regions where our employees live and work.
Alpha's Corporate Giving Program was established at the company's inception. We are proud to have an opportunity to give back to our communities and our neighbors.
The purpose of our program is to identify areas where we can make an impact on the lives of those who live in the same communities where our employees live and work. Priority emphasis is placed on Education, Health Agencies, Fuel Assistance and Weatherization Projects. We also support youth and youth programs that build character, as well as those programs that promote drug resistance education.
A conscious effort is made to determine employee interests and the community needs. Our education support lends itself to scholarships, with emphasis on serving the sons and daughters of our employees, and especially those majoring in the fields that have an impact on our industry.
We strive to assist health agencies that serve the elderly and those in need of medical attention who cannot afford proper medical necessities. Fuel assistance and weatherization projects aid those who can't afford to pay for adequate heating of their home in adverse weather.
We work with local Sheriff’s Departments and schools on drug awareness and drug resistance education programs throughout our service areas.
Our employees also volunteer at many nonprofit agencies. The time they give back to the community, whether sitting on boards of non-profits, training nonprofit leaders or coaching little league athletics exemplify philosophy of Running Right in the many rural areas where our employees live. Volunteerism is encouraged throughout the company, and we consider it honorable to serve these many worthy causes.
Alpha's philanthropic budget is prepared annually with the consideration of both market conditions and the strength and mission of the organization being considered. An employee committee reviews donations from the previous year to weigh consideration for future donations.
